Textile industry calls for 'dialogue, empathy and reconciliation'

BATİAD, LASIAD, MESİAD, OTİAD and TİGSAD issued a joint statement regarding the Taksim Gezi Park events. The joint statement issued by the associations successfully representing Osmanbey, Laleli, Merter and Bayrampaşa, the textile and ready-to-wear centers of Istanbul, is as follows:

We, as regional and sectoral businessmen associations representing the majority of the textile, ready-to-wear and sub-industry sectors with thousands of members whose names are written below, say

We wish and expect that the incidents, which have damaged the image of our country, which have been created with great difficulty, which have put our businesses in trouble, which have caused anxiety and fear all over our country, which have started to replace sympathy with antipathy, which have started to move away from their purpose, to end completely, to meet all kinds of democratic actions and reactions with tolerance, and instead to solve the problems with dialogue, empathy and reconciliation without alienating anyone.

In this process, everyone has mutually revealed everything that needs to be said, and every wrong and illegal step to be taken on the street from now on will only facilitate the work of those who are looking for an opportunity for TURKEY to lose.

As a result, it is the common wish of all of us that all our citizens, in or out of the issue, return to their daily lives and normalization is achieved as soon as possible, based on the word of the competent authorities that "the necessary message has been received".

In this respect, without losing the economic gains and stability achieved so far, we say to all segments, "Let's catch the Peaceful Tomorrows Together Hand in Hand".
