OTİAD participated in the "2014 South Korea-Turkey Textile Export Conference" organized in Gyeongju, South Korea upon the invitation of Daegu Gyeongbuk Textile Industrialists Association.
The conference, which brought together South Korean textile manufacturers and fabric importers from Turkey, aimed to bring together the textile manufacturers of both countries. Vice President Kutbettin Ayyıldız, Board Member Tamer Pala and Mustafa Sürmegöz attended the conference representing OTİAD. At the conference where intensive contacts were made, South Korean textile manufacturers had the opportunity to get to know Osmanbey closely. Stating that they followed the progress made by the Turkish ready-to-wear sector with interest, the Koreans emphasized the importance of transforming it into trade.
EuiYeol Lee, President of Daegu Gyeongbuk Textile Industrialists Association, started his speech by saying "We sincerely welcome our Turkish guest from the sister country Turkey who participated in this event for the development of the cooperation of the textile industry of the two countries" and expressed his gratitude to OTİAD for their participation: "The textile industry of Turkey and Korea, which has recently been the center of the world textile trade, is expected to increase cooperation between the two sides and further strengthen its role as a new partner in the world textile market with the entry into force of the 2013 Free Trade Agreement (FTA). I especially hope that this conference will make a significant contribution to cooperation between the two countries."
Osmanbey and OTİAD in South Korea
Kutbettin Ayyıldız, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of OTİAD, started his speech by saying "I bring greetings to South Korea, the country that the people of Turkey sympathize with the most, despite being 8 thousand kilometers away" and thanked the Conference Authorities for their invitation. Giving information about Osmanbey and OTİAD, Ayyıldız said, "We are here today with the awareness that we have a historical past with South Korea, the rising value of recent years. Our presence here is not only a commercial relationship but also the excitement and happiness of being in a 'friendly' country. We know that the relations between our countries are of great importance and we believe that they can be further improved.
Especially in the last decade, both countries have shown a strong will to improve bilateral relations. The number of mutual high-level visits is incomparably higher than in previous periods, and the opportunities for relations between the two countries in the international arena have started to increase, which further enhances the existing climate.
Our next goal should be to increase the trade volume between the two countries, which is around 7 billion dollars, and to carry our existing relations to even higher points."
Emphasizing the historical friendship between South Korea and Turkey, Ayyıldız said; "We expect the foreign trade deficit, which is in the form of a multi-rate open scissors against our country, to be balanced and to increase Korean investments in our country by strengthening the cooperation opportunities between our businessmen."
