8th Carpet Design Competition Concluded
The winners of the 8th Carpet Design Competition organized by İHİB in order to increase the design power of the Turkish carpet industry and to direct young talents to this field were given their awards at a special night organized for the 25th anniversary of the Association.
Uğur Uysal, President of Istanbul Carpet Exporters' Association (İHİB), who pointed out that they provide 2 billion dollars of foreign currency inflow annually, 500 million dollars of which is through direct exports and 1.5 billion dollars through touristic sales, said that they can become a world leader with the driving force of design and branding if the bureaucracy does not hinder them. Dignitaries not forgotten
Following the speeches, the results of the 8th Carpet Design Competition were announced and Büşra Balota, Nilüfer Ünay Çubukçu, Nilüfer Ünay Çubukçu and Şükrü Turhanlı were ranked first, second and third among the 8 finalists. Celaleddin Vardarsuyu, the owner of Bereket Halı, was deemed worthy of the IHIB Carpet Manufacturer of the Year Award, which was given for the first time this year. In addition, for the first time this year, IHIB Duayen Carpet Manufacturers of the Year Awards were also presented.
Mustafa Çıkrıkçıoğlu, Vice President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), Hikmet Tanrıverdi, President of the Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association (İHKİB), İsmail Gülle, President of the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters' Association (İTHİB), Mustafa Şenocak, President of the Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association (İDMİB), as well as prominent figures from the business world attended the event. OTİAD was represented by Board Member Cüneyt Mutkan and Secretary General Sami Kurt.
