Exporters rushed to e-commerce
The e-commerce supports provided by the Ministry of Economy to companies started to bear fruit. One thousand 500 companies have so far benefited from the support program launched last month.
The supports provided by the Ministry of Economy for e-commerce mobilized exporters. Since the launch meeting last month where e-commerce supports were announced, 1,500 companies have become members of e-commerce sites. Within the scope of the supports, if 250 companies come together and become a member of alibaba.com, kompass.com or turkishexporter.net, 80 percent of the membership fee is covered by the Ministry of Economy. TIM President Mehmet Büyükekşi and Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci attended the "Turkey E-commerce Summit" held under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and with the main support of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM). OTİAD was represented by Secretary General Sami Kurt at the summit.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Zeybekci commented that electronic commerce is in its infancy in Turkey and pointed out that the point the world has reached in e-commerce should not be missed. According to Dünya, Zeybekci pointed out that Turkey has steps to take and has significant potential in e-commerce and mentioned that Turkey is a country that moves very fast in some areas and can close the gap in a short time.
Nihat Zeybekci reminded that the government continues to work on legal and physical infrastructure in terms of the development of e-commerce and said, "You will soon see that the share of e-commerce in exports will increase with the rate of increase. We know that stores abroad, brands from Turkey as exports of the products they receive as exports from Turkey, without going to their warehouses in their own countries, without storing, from the manufacturer here, you will see that he began to apply methods such as sending directly to the consumer who sent him an order. This has already started," he said.
TIM's Structure Will Become Suitable for e-Commerce
Stating that exports will also have appropriate structures, Zeybekci said that the share of electronic exports in electronic trade will also increase. Zeybekci pointed out that there will also be appropriate structures, "Electronic exports will be suitable for the Turkish Exporters Assembly will also be Electronic Export Unions, our structures will be realized in accordance with this and we have started this. At the moment, all of our exports in Turkey, we support up to 80 percent of the costs related to their membership in electronic export sites as a government. We believe that the future is there now, and as Turkey, we will not miss this era."
Pointing out that Turkey has a great capacity in this sense, Zeybekci reported that Turkey's game software exports currently exceed 500 million dollars. Zeybekci stated that it was the youth who did this and that Turkey would become the center of the world in the field of software.
Speaking at the meeting, TIM President Mehmet Büyükekşi reminded that with the launch they made last month, they introduced the program, which includes the Ministry of Economy covering 80 percent of the membership fee if 250 companies come together and become members of alibaba.com, kompass.com or turkishexporter.net. Noting that they set the target of 10 thousand companies to take part in e-commerce platforms in the first year they set out on the road, Büyükekşi said that 1,500 Turkish companies have entered these platforms in the last 1 month.
