Textile Manufacturers Try to Make Their Voices Heard!

Many companies that sent open-account goods to Egypt from the Osmanbey market were unable to collect due to the events. It is stated that there are companies with receivables starting from 100 thousand to 300 thousand dollars or even higher. Textile manufacturers, who sent a large amount of goods to the country especially for the holiday, were unable to make payments to the companies from which they bought raw materials. Fevzi Çelik and Mustafa Güngör, two partners of Paşa Foreign Trade, which has been operating in the Osmanbey market for years, visited OTİAD and met with President Ali Ulvi Orhan and explained the problems experienced.

Çelik and Güngör, who stated that they were going to Egypt, said that they were unable to do business due to the strained political relations with Egypt. Mustafa Güngör, who stated that they were respected and did not face any difficulties when they went to Egypt before, said, "Turks have become seen as enemies. 'Turkish goods are not sold here' signs started to be written on the stores. The situation is really bad..." President Orhan, Güngör and Çelik agreed to come together again after returning to Egypt and evaluate the situation and agreed that something should be done to make their voices heard by the authorities.
