EVTEKS International Home Textile Fair, organized for the 23rd time this year by Turkish Home Textile Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TETSİAD) in cooperation with CNR Fuarcılık, opened its doors.
Over 2 thousand domestic and foreign brands are participating in the fair, which can be visited at CNR EXPO Exhibition Center until Saturday, May 20. The home textile sector makes a high contribution to the country's economy both by creating an export value of 14 dollars per kilogram and with a domestic input rate of up to 70 percent. "EVTEKS International Home Textile Fair", the largest home textile fair in Turkey and one of the two largest home textile fairs in the world, opened its doors to visitors with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş and Minister of Customs and Trade Bülent Tüfenkci. Vice President Nevzat Ataman and Board Member Hüseyin Ekmen attended the opening on behalf of OTİAD.
"Turkey Will Become One of the World's Top Ten Economies"
Delivering the opening speech of the EVTEKS Fair, Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş stated that Turkey is at the point of moving up in class and that it will move from the first league to the super league and become one of the ten largest economies in the world. Deputy Prime Minister Kurtulmuş said, "Despite everything, despite the political fluctuations in the domestic and foreign economy, Turkey's economy has become one of the leading economies by moving forward in its own direction day by day. We are right on the stepping stone, we are at the point of moving up a class. Turkey is currently a country playing in the first league, we have not made it to the super league. We strive for Turkey to make it to the super league and become one of the ten largest economies in the world. We are trying to take it to the super league together. With your efforts, Turkey will rise to the super league and become one of the ten largest economies in the world."
"The Export Kilogram of the Sector is 14 Dollars"
In his opening speech, TETSİAD President Ali Sami Aydın pointed out that Turkish home textile industrialists offer a very important added value to both our country and the world, and said that the sector's export kilogram was 14 dollars. President Aydın; "Today, Turkey's export kilogram is 1.37 dollars. This indicator once again reveals how much added value our sector has. In line with this striking data, I can easily state that the kilogram value of Turkey's home textile exports is more expensive and value added than the kilogram value of our automotive exports."Ali Sami Aydın, President of TETSIAD, stated that industrialists and businessmen in our country have the opportunity to clearly exhibit the world perception and transformations in innovation, design and branding thanks to fairs such as EVTEKS and added: "For centuries, we have been a bridge, a guide and a producer in trade, politics and economy between East and West. For this reason, Turkey has always maintained its place among the world's largest economies today as in the past. As the home textile industry, we have never been afraid of competition in the world and we believe that the future of our industry lies in sustainable competition. I would like to underline again that we expect support from the government for more effective operation of unfair competition measures for our sustainable competition."
Over 150 thousand visitors from 120 countries are expected to attend the fair.
With the vision of being a bridge between East and West, EVTEKS Fair provides many opportunities to its exhibitors such as creating new markets, opening up to the world and developing export volume by exhibiting the trends, latest designs and products in the sector.
